ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Planet Rating is a private independent microfinance rating agency based in Paris. Created in 1999, it is a global agency, with missions conducted in several countries. It offers global and independent coverage to the microfinance industry worldwide with analysts providing rating services in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic. Planet Rating’s mission is to offer quality rating and evaluation services to increase the MFIs transparency and access to financing.
ABOUT THE JOB:
Planet Rating is seeking Analysts. S/he will be responsible for conducting ratings, assessments, and certifications of MFIs worldwide.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Collect financial and operational data, conduct analytical work, and interview key stakeholders in order to provide an opinion on the sustainability of the rated MFIs, as per organization's Smart GIRAFE and social performance rating methodologies;
- Ensure that reports are written according to organization's quality standards and within the normal timeframe;
- Manage customer relationship as well as administrative, logistical, and technical preparation of local visits.
Qualifications:
- Interest in microfinance and international development. Previous experience in auditing, accounting, financial analysis, credit rating, or finance/banking;
- Previous experience in microfinance and good command of another foreign language will be appreciated;
- Fluency in English and French;
- Excellent command of Excel and MS Office;
- Detailed-oriented with strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and write analytically;
- Entrepreneur skills, able to work independently and proactively;
- Demonstrated team working skills.
