Program Coordinator, Tunisia

 Background: The purpose of the upcoming program is to improve the workforce readiness skills of Tunisian youth by support the establishment and/or strengthening of university-based career development centers. Key program components include soft skills development, civic engagement, leadership and small grants. The Program Coordinator will lead the coordination and implementation of the program, working closely with Career Center staff and other stakeholders. The project will develop and/or strengthen Career Centers based on and adapting tools from World Learning’s existing model, and work with Tunisian youth with disabilities, university students, universities, and Tunisian civil society organizations (CSOs) to provide youth and students the skills and experience needed to constructively address social problems within their communities. The Program Coordinator will be the primary point of contact with the donor and other stakeholders.

 Reports to: World Learning Program Officer based in Washington, DC
Location: Tunis, Tunisia with frequent travel to multiple project sites

Specific Responsibilities:
·            Collaborate with Career Center staff, University representatives and World Learning staff to develop and implement a strategic plan for the operation and sustainability of the Career Center;
·            Provide technical oversight of contracted trainings for Career Center Staff
·            Develop and oversee implementation of supplementary trainings for Career Center Staff
·            Conduct monthly monitoring and training visits for Career Center staff to ensure that program goals and targets are met
·            Support career center staff in developing links with academic departments, international offices, external relations office and other internal university partners
·            Support career center staff in developing links with external partners, including private sector partners and civil society
·            Work with University partners to determine payment and hiring and employment logistics and arrangements for Career Center Coordinators
·            Work in close collaboration with World Learning Home Office
·            Oversee budget management and financial reporting
·            Contribute to development of quarterly program reports
·            Meet and interface with Ministries and donor representatives as necessary for planning, updating, review, and organization of program activities.
·            Interface with university partners for the organization and planning of trainings, such as arranging with universities and other partners for the provision of training venues, equipment, technical support etc. Prepare training materials as required
·            Support home office in organizing travel to Tunisia for personnel and consultants

Required Qualifications:
§ 7-10 years of related professional experience
§ Demonstrated understanding of youth employment issues and best practices in Tunisia
§ Experience providing training and coaching to Tunisian youth
§ Understanding of private sector and civil society
§ Ability to travel frequently within Tunisia
§ English and Arabic language proficiency
§ University degree
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills
§ Ability to coordinate people and processes

 Desired Qualifications:
§ Experience volunteering with associations or CSOs
§ Experience with monitoring and evaluation
§ Experience with leveraging online social networking for professional projects
§ Arabic and/or French language proficiency
