Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector, presents a career opportunity for a BEE, Technical Engineering Manager to develop their technical and management skills of various phases of the design and implementation of renewable energy projects. This professional will be able to apply their mature problem-solving expertise to successfully manage and execute multi-billion rand projects during the various phases of development and execution activities in a smaller company.
The ideal candidate will come from a large company with a depth of practical experience and knowledge in design, development, construction, and grid connection (commissioning), coupled with the initiation of contracts as well as strong budget management experience of large infrastructure projects – preferably in the power generation market.
You will find yourself working in an entrepreneurial environment handling costings, managing schedules, identifying and mitigating risk and management the outputs of project teams. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and leader, able to effectively verbalise and report their findings and ideas to all relative stakeholders. You will be focused on ensuring deliverables are met within tight and changing timeframes. You will need to have great people skills and able to lead by example due to the various parties to which you’re will be reporting and liaising to and with. The perfect candidate will be masterful in implementing and enforcing processes and procedures which will ensure all regulations relating to safety, quality and the environment are met. You will be required to travel when needed.

Requirements
- BEE candidates are encouraged to apply
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field
- Pr. Eng and MBA preferable
- Experience with project management methodologies i.e. PMBOK
- Proven experience managing a team with relevant qualification/certification
- Vast power production construction experience and/or experience managing large infrastructure projects is essential
- 9 – 13 years relative demonstrable experience
- Business management experience a plus
- Leadership, communication and people management skills vital
