Policy Officer, Sustainable Finance
Location:
WWF European Policy Office in Brussels, Belgium.
Main responsibilities:
The Policy Officer, Sustainable Finance will focus on three main areas of work:
- Public export credits for coal: The OECD and the G7 committed to discuss how to curb public export credits for coal in order to fight climate change before the climate COP21 in December 2015. This needs an EU position as a first step, followed by an OECD compromise;
- Private investments in the coal sector: Some mainstream investors started to divest from coal companies for both climate/ethical and economic/financial reasons. WWF is developing a robust rationale to engage with investors on the issue;
- Private investments and climate change: There are many EU regulations shaping the framework for EU private finance, but so far they fail to integrate low carbon requirement aiming at ensuring consistency of investment portfolios with the 2°C climate limit. WWF is willing to identify and map the most relevant EU regulations / policies and stakeholders for that purpose.
What you need:
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree and/equivalent work experience in finance, environmental policies and law, and preferably on climate and energy policies;
- Experience and training in project management and coordination.
- At least two year experience on financial issues and/or on energy/coal/climate issues

- Excellent word processing skills in MS-Word, MS-Excel MS-PowerPoint
