Organizational context and impact of results
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Director DFA, the Senior Analyst is responsible for making a significant contribution to the financial analysis activities of the Department. The Senior Analyst provides independent financial analysis to several key departments and is actively involved in the project implementation, monitoring and recovery stages of the project ensuring accurate, timely and high quality work.
The Senior Analyst works in close collaboration with key departments of BSTDB, including, Banking, Risk Management and Project Implementation and Monitoring.
The key results have an impact on the realization of the Department’s and Operations Division objectives in determining the financial viability of the operations for the end-users, including the Credit Committee members, Board members and other internal colleagues, contributing to the successful completion of the BSTDB’s overall business targets.
Functions
- Performs the financial due diligence of the proposed operation, providing an opinion on its financial eligibility, and
- Participates in the financial monitoring of the ongoing operations and provides an opinion on their financial performance, on waivers, amendments, consents and notices.
- Performs other duties related to the due diligence, appraisal, and the monitoring of the operation and participates as a member of the recovery team for non-performing assets.
- Liaises and maintains high level relationships with counterparties and authorities.
- Promotes the Bank’s activities through participation in various events.

Minimum requirements for the position
- Education: First-level University degree in Finance, Accounting, Applied Economics or Business Administration.
- Experience: At least 8 years of relevant working experience in project/operation analysis, structuring and forecasting of which at least 3 years as a financial or credit analyst in a banking or financial institution.
- Proven experience in determining and recommending appropriate financial covenants.
- Computer skills: Excellent practical application of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work efficiently with limited information.
- Financial analysis skills including reviewing and building financial models.
- Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
- Excellent command of English.
Desirable education/qualifications/experience/knowledge/skills:
- Relevant Postgraduate degree and/or CFA professional qualification.
- Experience working in an international development financial institution.
- Experience working in a banking institution in the Bank’s member countries.
- Good knowledge of a language of a member state of the Bank.
