PPM Communications Specialist

Crown Agents USA, Inc. (CA-USA) is seeking a
Pooled Procurement Mechanism (PPM) Communications Specialist
for the Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PFSCM) in our Woerden, The Netherlands office.
This is a part-time position.

Crown Agents USA (CA-USA), the U.S. incorporated subsidiary of Crown Agents, provides direct technical assistance, capacity development, and procurement services to stimulate economic growth, establish good governance, and improve health outcomes across the developing world. Since its incorporation in the United States in 1998, CA-USA has provided technical assistance services and support to U.S. Government agencies and international organizations such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), Department of State (DOS), and the Gates Foundation.
Role & Responsibilities
The Communication Specialist position is a part-time (60%) position that reports to the Director of Knowledge Sharing and Communications at the home office. In addition he/she will have administrative reporting to the Deputy Director for Client Relations at the Woerden office. This aims to ensure a harmonized approach and style to communication within PFSCM while providing dedicated support to the PPM project. The Communications Specialist will provide information and communication support to PFSCM’s Pooled Procurement Mechanism (PPM) project to share PPM’s performance and best practices related to effective, efficient supply chain management. The Communication Specialist will also provide on-going support to the PPM team, regarding best practices, tips and guidance for efficient and high quality communication to clients.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Support a comprehensive multi-channel strategic communications plan for the Pooled Procurement Mechanism (PPM) to share PFSCM performance, including accomplishments and best practices related to effective, efficient supply chain management.
  • Assist PPMPFSCM projects in developing and executing client relations strategies.
  • Draft and contribute to key client reports, newsletters, presentations and other communication channels, as appropriate.
  • Help develop and maintain throughout the PPM team a high standard of communication towards clients.
  • Contribute to reinforcing adherence to and promotion of PPM and PFSCM’s mission, vision, identity and brand.
  • Advance PPM/PFSCM’s interests, including support to staff participation in global, regional and national conferences, forums, and specific events by assisting staff in the development power point presentations, as appropriate.
  • Serve as the PPM communications liaison to the home office’s Knowledge Sharing and Communications unit.
  • Oversee the production of promotional materials such as reports, IEC materials, success stories, and other publications and facilitate their distribution
  • Travel internationally, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Degree in communications, journalism, public health , education, public policy, international development or related field and at least three years of relevant experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for a variety of mediums; attention to detail to produce high-quality documentation
  • Avid user of social media across key channels including Facebook and Twitter with a deep understanding of how major social media platforms function and a passion for understanding trends and developments in social media
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills, organizational skills, with a problem-solving attitude and as a self-starter who works both independently and as a collaborative team player
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in international development and/or global health; knowledge of international programs, strategies, donors and organizations advantageous
  • Team-focused with the ability to network and facilitate strong working relationships between partners
  • Understanding of knowledge management and on adopting, adapting, and applying knowledge to work more effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in French a plus. Other languages (Portuguese or Spanish) welcome.
