UK (Cambridge)
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead internal operations, and to play a pivotal role in developing systems and processes to support the delivery of BirdLife International’s strategic aims.
BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership, comprising BirdLife International, a global secretariat and regional network, and 120 BirdLife Partners worldwide – one civil society organisation per country – and growing. It has more than 13 million members and supporters. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.
The Chief Operating Officer is a new position and will be a key player on the Executive and Management Teams. We are looking to find a leader who has implemented organisational change through the development of modern and effective systems for finance and HR, and who can help us achieve the extraordinary potential that BirdLife has. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this person will be responsible for finance, operations, human resources, information technology, legal and compliance across the organisation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a proven track record of developing and delivering financial and operating tools and systems within a complex environment. You will be a strong communicator, an inspirational leader, and a strategic thinker. A passion for nature and an understanding of conservation issues would be an advantage.
