Consultant on water resources management 0.9 FTE

The consultant will be part of our land and water management team. This team comprises of consultants from different backgrounds based in the Netherlands, Indonesia, Mali, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal and Uganda. We support clients in the strategy design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and businesses that are geared towards increasing access to land and water for consumption and production. We are looking for a consultant who will:
- Advise our clients on (integrated) water resource management and the access to and use of water
- Provide research and advisory services that strongly builds upon Aidenvironment's in-house knowledge of agriculture and commodity chains and (rain) water programs,
- Manage and acquire consultancy assignments and programs,
- Build and manage an international client portfolio in the private, profit and non-profit sector,
- Contribute to the growth of our organization.
Profile
The successful candidate:
- Has at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the water sector and preferably in the agriculture sector as well
- Has a track record of at least 3 years of relevant experience in consultancy and advice. This is a must
- Will bring in a relevant network (and potential clients) in water resources management
- Has knowledge of rainwater harvesting and water conservation (with a focus on 3R technologies).
The candidate has an excellent working (and writing) knowledge of English, Dutch. A third language (French or Spanish) is highly appreciated. The candidate is expected to travel 4-6 times per year for periods of 1 to 2 weeks
