Digital Communication Intern

Pioneer association in the field of international justice and the fight against impunity for international crimes, TRIAL is opening a Communication Internship position.
The ideal candidate will have an education degree in journalism, communication, political sciences or other relevant background for the position. He/she will have a sound social media culture and already be familiar with digital communication tools (social networks, statistics, software management and web, etc.). He/she will show a proven and strong interest for human rights.
He/she will assist TRIAL’s Communication department in the following tasks:
‣ Digital communication: community management-related activities (updating the NGO’s accounts, preparing and broadcasting content - text and images - on the web and on social media)
‣ Strategic monitoring: following the news, monitoring specific issues
‣ Figures & stats: identify and manage relevant platforms to produce statistics
‣ Image: managing photo databases, editing pictures
‣ Media: assisting in media relations management (updating media contacts), filing articles
‣ Events: Logistical organization of events (press conferences, etc.)
‣ Administrative assistance and other tasks
The following skills are required:
‣ Excellent command (oral AND written) of English and French
‣ Good writing skills in both languages with attention to details
‣ A first proven experience in managing social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Storify, etc.)
‣ Ability to produce documents with neat layout
‣ Good command of basic IT tools (Mac environment)
‣ Spirit of initiative, dynamism and flexibility
‣ Capacity to work independently
‣ Interest in international affairs and human rights, also an asset
Beginning of the internship: from March 21st 2016, ideally
Percentage of desired work-time: 80% - Duration of the internship: 6 months
The position is unpaid but a stipend is provided
The candidates, if they are not Swiss nationals, must hold a residence permit for the duration of their stay in Geneva. Transport and housing expenses are not defrayed.
