Description
• Instil a strong understanding of the Busac III approach, Theory of Change, and Strategic Framework, ensuring that all interventions for all components adhere to the overall strategy of Busac III as a whole including in areas of promoting replication, ensuring sustainability and exit.
• Develop a strong familiarity with the key tools and frameworks (e.g. M&E Manual); take responsibility for the development or upgrading of frameworks (e.g. VFM Framework); ensure that tools and frameworks are applied in the programme.
• Identify and mitigate against programme risks.
• Review intervention and partnership progress on a monthly / quarterly basis; identify areas for improvement / provide value-added inputs.
Governance:
• Develop a strong working relationship with key stakeholders and other relevant programmes to identify and lead on a number of collaboration opportunities
• Lead the stakeholder engagement in the focal states; engage the new / incumbent administrations in each state and build buy-in for the programme
• Oversee the updating of the state-level systems analysis reports to reflect changes on a regular basis; update state-level strategies as required.
• Support to identify and finalise new partnerships.
• Review initial Intervention Strategy Concept Notes and Partnership Plans; provide value-added inputs.
Leadership & Human Resources:
• Take ownership of Busac targets, as outlined in the logframe and other planning documents
• Promote a dynamic, professional, and results-driven organisation culture; lead by example as an effective role model.
• Promote a clear strategic vision for the Busac programme, both internally and externally.
• Day-to-day management of the Management Team
• Strategic oversight of management processes (including VfM and M&E mechanisms); identify and implement improvements to these processes where necessary.
• Develop mechanisms to ensure that the teams and the State Coordinators are effectively integrated, coordinated and supported.

Essential
• At least ten years’ experience in a field relevant to the duties of the position;
• Good understanding of a range of technical issues (for example, policy reform, development of pro-poor business models, advocacy, PPD);
• Experience working with a range of public and private sector and civil society organisations;
• Extensive experience in effectively leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects and teams, preferably in the development space;
• Experience developing and managing programmes in private sector development;
• Experience within advocacy matters and strategies, including PPD platforms and engagements.
• Commitment to staying in Accra, with travelling in the all country;
• Excellent communications and writing skills; and
• Teamwork, enthusiasm and flexibility.
Highly desirable
• Experience working in developing countries, preferably in Ghana;
• Good understanding of market systems development, particularly with a focus on Danida ‘making markets work for the poor’ approach, business development strategy for the private sector, advocacy strategies and challenge fund.
