ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Triple Jump is a socially responsible investment management company with its head office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and regional offices in Georgia, Peru, Mexico, Kenya, and Thailand. Triple Jump manages and administers investment funds that focus on improving access to finance for entrepreneurs in developing countries. The funds we manage reach out to in excess of 350,000 micro, small and medium enterprises in 60 low and middle income countries.
ABOUT THE JOB:
Triple Jump is seeking an Investment Officer Africa & Middle East based in Nairobi, Kenya. The position is initially for 1 year. If successful, the candidate will be offered a contract beyond the initial 1 year. The position requires frequent travel to countries within the region.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Identification, appraisal, processing and supervision of loans to financial institutions in Africa.
Qualifications:
- Strong finance background, acquired through studies in a relevant field and at least three years of relevant work experience at a fund manager, MFI or other financial institution;
- Experience with analyzing financial statements and dealing with legal and organizational issues as part of the due diligence process;
- Demonstrable communication skills, able to disseminate knowledge and mediate between different views;
- Excellent negotiation skills and capable of representing the funds Triple Jump manages;
- Comfortable working in a team while independently developing new and managing existing markets;
- Work experience in developing countries preferable;
- You ideally have an extensive regional network of partners and other people/institutions relevant to the fulfilment of your position;
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English and French. Knowledge of Portuguese, Arabic or other regional languages is considered a plus;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Good negotiator;
- Result-oriented;
- Team player.
