ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: 
On the strength of more than 15 years’ experience in microfinance, Horus Development Finance created Advans in 2005 with the backing of major international Development Finance Institutions. Advans’ mission is to build a network of microfinance institutions (MFIs) in developing and emerging countries to cater to the financial needs of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and low-income populations, which have limited or no access to formal banking services.
The Advans group currently spans nine countries: Cambodia, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tanzania and Tunisia. Advans MFIs serve more than 600,000 clients; the group employs more than 5,000 staff.
ABOUT THE JOB: 
In order to support the development of the Advans network, Horus Development Finance is recruiting three Project Officers for an 18 to 24-month assignment at Advans Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The assignments are VIE placements. The VIE International Internship Programme is a French international corporate placement program for young professionals between the age of 18 and 28 who are European Union nationals.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Support local managers in carrying out projects (organization, business development, new products and services, search for funding, etc.) in accordance with priorities identified by Executive Management;
  • Design procedures and policies and implement related tools based on the Group’s standards;
  • Contribute to local managers’ skills development, especially regarding project management, task planning, problem solving, and action plan implementation.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s in management, finance or development;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in consulting or project management, ideally in the banking sector;
  • Experience in an international environment;
  • Fluency in French;
  • Good command of English;
  • Adaptability, inquisitive spirit, proactiveness;
  • Ability to work in a team, interpersonal skills;
  • Project management and planning expertise;
  • Analysis and synthesis skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication;
  • Good command of IT software (Office, especially Excel).
