TITLE : Social Worker
PLACE:Tripoli - Libya
Project: Rehabilitation and Protection for IDP children
GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Participate in the implementation of the Rehabilitation and Protection for IDP children living in Tripoli, and especially the most vulnerable ones by handling and assisting concerned cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS DESCRIPTION
Under the direct responsibility of the Rehabilitation and Projection Deputy Project Manager, in close collaboration with the pluridisciplinary Protection/Rehabilitation team (social workers, psychosocial worker, physiotherapist), you will have to :
1. Identify specific needs of the programme beneficiaries, contribute to the assessment of these needs and/or directly assess these needs as required:
- Work as a team to identify, register and analyse beneficiaries specifics needs (disabilities and vulnerabilities)
- Develop a community approach to ensure a confidence HI process and project
- Ensure a global vision of the individual and familial needs identification
- Assess all protection issues at individuals and familial level
2. Mapping of existing services and information sharing with beneficiaries:
- Work as mobile/outreach team to map existing services for beneficiaries with specifics needs (disabilities and vulnerabilities)
- Organize awareness sessions to IDP community on inclusion of people with disabilities, right of people with disabilities and on available services
3. Conduct orientation sessions to Community Focal Points and CFS staff
- Training and monthly follow-up of community-based networks (Community Focal Points, CFS staff) in Tripoli IDP camps for identification and orientation of vulnerable people (including children) with physical and functional disabilities
4. Answer to the identified needs, by providing direct support (donation of basic items) and refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary:
- Identify basic and specific needs and deliver appropriate items if need arise, following the appropriate strategy
- Refer all cases identified internally and externally to HI team within the internal system in place
- Upon needs, refer all cases identified to an external partner within the system in place
- Accompany cases throughout the registration process, from arrival to exiting
5. Develop and reinforce the relationships with INGO, authorities, community focal points and any other stakeholders on the field to improve the identification system, with the support of DPM :
- Develop, maintain and follow-up cordial relationships with stakeholders
- Share with the other team members the cases located outside of your area of intervention
- In collaboration with the Psychosocial Social Worker, develop and update a mapping of the services in your area of intervention
6. Management of cases (arrivals and referrals):
- Ensure identification of beneficiaries to be followed up of managed by HI
- Identify beneficiaries specific needs and deliver appropriate items if need arise, following the appropriate strategy
- Refer all cases identified internally to the HI team within the internal system in place and share feedbacks
- Upon needs, refer all cases identified externally to an external partner within the system in place and share feedback
- Provide feedback to stakeholders if needed
- Reporting and follow up of all deferral cases in the appropriate document
- Ensure appropriate and clear handover to the following shift
7. Report data on activities follow up on individual cases and organize the daily and weekly activities:
- Ensure a qualitative follow up of the beneficiaries and document the follow up according to the monitoring plan
- Ensure a daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools (assessment form, follow up form, discharger and monitoring form, donation certificate, groups report) and system in place
- Organization of the weekly plan within the pluridisciplinary team, with the support of the DPM
8. Participate in the analysis and reporting of global issues in the refugee population:
- In formal and informal meetings with the team, participate to a qualitative analysis of the different kind of issues, at individual, familial and community level
- Share in formal and informal meetings with the team the information you collect on the field regarding humanitarian actors activities and constraints
- Anticipate to report with the tools and the internal system all issues identified
- Be part of a constructive holistic team work to develop a very qualitative analysis and response for disable and vulnerable persons
- Any other reports to be made upon line manager request
9. Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice:
- Respect beneficiary confidentiality.
- Respect and promote HI’s Policies on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Child Protection and report to your line manager any non respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
- Address needs and requests in a professional way.
- Report any incidents or acts that cause any harm to beneficiary or to others.
- Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers
- Always ask the permission to touch or to apply any treatment or maneuvers to someone.
- Always respect a refusal of treatment.
- Behave respectfully with regards to culture and religious backgrounds of beneficiaries
- Immediately report severe protection issues to Protection PM
10. Demonstrate willingness to improve professional competences and abilities to increase care quality:
- Demonstrate motivation at work.
- Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions and capacity building activities
- Demonstrate awareness of their professional knowledge and limitations
- Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members (identification of needs of beneficiaries, internal and/or external referrals)
- Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty
- Adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
You will have previous experience with NGO’s. You will be diplomatic and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be sensitive to the needs of vulnerable groups. You will be fluent in English (written and spoken) and Arabic.
Should possess initiative, good communication skills, strong analytical skills and the ability to support others, evaluate and negotiate appropriate options and ability to work under pressure.
A PLUS: previous experience with related position is well required
