Background: The purpose of the upcoming program is to improve the workforce readiness skills of Tunisian youth by support the establishment and/or strengthening of university-based career development centers. Key program components include soft skills development, civic engagement, leadership and small grants. The Capacity Development Specialist will provide technical expertise to Career Centers. The project will develop and/or strengthen Career Centers based on and participating adapting tools from World Learning’s existing model, and work with Tunisian youth with disabilities, university students, universities, and Tunisian civil society organizations (CSOs) to provide youth and students the skills and experience needed to constructively address social problems within their communities. The Capacity Development Specialist will coordinate and deliver training on Career Center workshop delivery, and design of a continuum of Career Development services, as well as provide continuous coaching for Career Centers as they develop their programs over the course of the project.
Reports to: Tunisia Program Coordinator
Location: Tunis, Tunisia with frequent travel to multiple project sites
Specific Responsibilities:
· Provide training and mentoring to career centers staff related to providing services to youth with disabilities and university students
· Coordinate with existing Career Centers, serve as liaison with career center staff
· Assure Center services are designed to offer the highest level of efficiency and quality for participating students and staff
· Supervise the gathering and analysis of performance data from the Centers
· Develop an outreach plan to engage with local businesses at project sites in collaboration with University Career Centers
· Monitor assigned project implementation and ensure project progress toward required goals
· Liaise with external and internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
§ Demonstrated understanding of youth employment issues and best practices in Tunisia
§ Experience providing training and coaching to Tunisian youth
§ Ability to travel frequently within Tunisia
§ English and Arabic language proficiency
§ University degree
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills
§ Ability to coordinate people and processes
Desired Qualifications:
§ Experience volunteering with associations or CSOs
§ Experience with monitoring and evaluation
§ Experience with leveraging online social networking for professional projects
§ Arabic and/or French language proficiency
