We are looking for a highly qualified Child Protection Project Manager with overall responsibility for supervision, management and quality implementation of an EU funded Child Protection project implemented in Sake and Beni, North Kivu, in DR Congo.
The PM will oversee, coordinate and lead child protection activities across twenty communities located in the areas of Sake and Beni, including technical supervision and daily management of project’s national staff and local NGO partners.
The PM will be part of the senior management team and is expected to contribute to the future strategic development and professional dynamics of DRC in DR Congo.

DRC operates in DR Congo since 2009. The overall strategic objectives of the programmes are the saving of lives and to support, protect and promote durable solutions for conflict-affected populations. Since 2013 DRC has moved from its former base in Province Orientale to Nord Kivu where it assessed more important needs. The country office is located in Goma. There are two sub-bases in Beni (North North-Kivu) and Kitchanga.
Duties
Under the supervision of the Country Director, the PM will be responsible for overall supervision, management and quality implementation of all aspects of DRC child protection project.

The PM will oversee the collection and analysis of child protection-related information by the field staff, in areas of implementation, and will ensure that a succinct and accurate protection information are submitted to partners (UN agencies and NGOs) and other
Donors on a regular basis.
The PM is in charge of designing/strengthening DRC child protection strategy in DR Congo.
He/she is responsible for overall management and technical support to DRC child protection activities, in areas of implementation.
He/she is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of child protection activities in DR Congo, including providing the relevant trainings for staff to build capacity in child protection.
He/she is also tasked with providing technical assistance and guidance to mainstream child protection across programs in all sectors, and to develop/strengthen relationships with donors for child protection projects in close cooperation with the Country Director and the others Coordinator. (Emergency coordinator and protection coordinator).

• Representation of DRC at the Child Protection Working Group meetings in North Kivu and other relevant forum for child protection advocacy.

• Coordination of the protection activities with relevant stakeholders (local and international NGO’s, local authorities, donors).

• 5 years professional work experience in operational child protection, including at least 3 years at the international level
• Experienced with combining protection work with delivery of humanitarian aid
• Proven record of providing trainings and workshops on human rights topics
• Excellent analytical, strategic and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with local staff and other stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure, culturally sensitive, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Full professional fluency in French and English
• Result oriented individual with ability to deliver good quality work in timely fashion
• Valid driving licence and passport
• Proficiency in using MS Excel and Word programs, as well as common computer and communications applications
• High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills and motivation to work as part of a team
• Willingness to live and travel in remote areas of Congo
• Capacity to live and work in volatile security environments and work under stress
