Reliability Engineer

Job Purpose

The Reliability Engineer is responsible to deliver key functions which are required to ensure that Etihad’s aircraft operation;

a) Has a Reliability Control Program that fulfills the Continuous Airworthiness requirements (Part M) and
 
b) Is optimized under safety, reliability and costs aspects.
Responsibilities 
  • Develop a comprehensive and cost effective Reliability Control Program that is acceptable to the local authority (UAE GCAA) to supplement the maintenance program.
  • Collect and compile the monthly reliability report, and analyze the data to identify unacceptable trends, and liaise with the respective fleet management section for recommendations and corrective action.
  • Drive the agenda for Reliability Control Program Committee meetings and follow up progress on open items.
  • Collect, compile and analyze the data required for the weekly and monthly performance reports, and issue the reports on time. Identify any repetitive occurrence of problems and recommend appropriate engineering solutions and corrective action plan that is cost effective.
  • When required, attend Daily Performance meeting and follow up to resolve issues related to Etihad Reliability department.
  • Collect shop finding reports (teardown reports) and evaluate trends and corrective action 
  • Calculate aircraft reliability performance parameters such as Mean Time between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR) from reliability databases.
  • Keep abreast of developments, evolving technologies, procedures and processes for changes to reliability programs and related documentation impacting Etihad and trigger appropriate action.
  • Develop, maintain and constantly update the ETOPS Maintenance Manual
  • Ensure Etihad Airways aircraft are maintained in accordance with the latest ETOPS CMP requirements and liaise with the fleet management to ensure the Aircraft CMP reports are up-to-date
  • Compile and review data for monthly ETOPS statistics that are part of the reliability reports
  • Identify ETOPS related incidents, defects and initiating required rectification.
  • Manage projects as directed by Manager Reliability.
  • Contribute to constructive and friendly team relations based on warmth and respect.
Requirements

Qualification & Education:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic engineering is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have formal qualification in reliability engineering.
Experience:
  • 5 years job-related experience within an airlines reliability department
  • A strong understanding of the Part M requirements and CAMO functions.
Training & Knowledge:
  • Strong analytical skills; should be able to demonstrate a high competence in analyzing large amount of raw data.
  • Very competent in using application tools to program, develop and produce reports for analysis.
  • A team player and self-starter, with good communications skills.
