Job Purpose |
This position provides support to the Company’s independent safety assurance process for assessment of standards of safety management throughout the Company, which is complementary to the audit and inspection activities detailed in the Company Quality Assurance Program.
The intention of this position is also to support the organization to achieve current, near-term and long-range safety objectives and targets that will have positive impact on the success of the Company by a reduction in safety occurrences and the associated costs to protect staff, guests, company assets, corporate reputation, and ultimately the profitability of the airline.

Responsibilities |
- Provide support to Senior Manager Safety Assurance in the effective performance of aviation safety within ETIHAD in accordance with CAR-OPS 1.037, CAR Part X, and ETIHAD requirements.
- Responsible for autonomous monitoring of the company’s safety standards to provide an independent view of safety performance, with emphasis on preventing incidents/accidents.
- Provides input to the continuous feedback system in regards to adequacy of the Safety Management System ensuring the timely reporting of any significant safety performance issues, deficiencies and non-compliances which lower safety standards in operations.
- Provide intelligence and information on safety performance throughout the Company which assists the development and implementation of strategies for continuous improvement to the Company Safety Management System necessary to achieve and exceed regulatory compliance.
- Supports the Senior Manager Safety Assurance in the uptake of all SMS requirements and improvement of safety across all divisions of Etihad, including fully owned subsidiaries and throughout the network of strategic alliances and business partnerships where there is a controlling interest.
- Represent the interests of ETIHAD on aviation SMS matters, including co-operation in national and international safety boards, and safety forums, and the cultivation of contacts with professional and educational bodies.
- Continuously look internally and externally for best practices. Challenge the status quo and encourage people to try new approaches. Supports the Senior Manager Safety Assurance in the generation of successful new ideas that improve safety performance.

Requirements | Qualification & Education:
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of total working experience
A minimum of 5 years of aviation working experience
A minimum of 3 years working experience in a safety function
Training & Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of airline regulations issued by an appropriate regulatory authority (preferably EASA and/or the U.A.E GCAA).
General business management training, including budgets, performance and project management.
Fluent in English language
High computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
