Main responsibilities:
- Leads the development, management, and implementation of the WWF Tanzania Conservation Strategic Plan, ensuring its on-going alignment with national priorities and with the Africa Regional Conservation Plan, and ensuring strong delivery on the WWF Tanzania Conservation KPIs;
- Supervises WWF Tanzania conservation team, providing technical assistance as required, in accordance with WWF policies, procedures, and standards.
- In addition shall be required to forge strategic partnerships and build relations with WWF stakeholders internally and externally.
What you need:
Required Qualifications- Advanced university degree in an appropriate field (conservation / environment / natural resource management marine / forest / freshwater / terrestrial ecology). Additional academic training or a degree in a management field would be a strong asset;
- At least 7 years professional experience in a leadership role, of which 3-5 years should include experience in leading, developing, and managing large scale programmes / and or large-scale projects in one or more of the above-mentioned fields. Experience with multi-disciplinary teams, as well as in the Southern Africa region (preferably Tanzania), would be a strong asset.
- Knowledge of and experience with monitoring and evaluation of programmes / projects; and
- Knowledge of the institutional and legal framework of the environment and conservation in Tanzania, as well as of relevant policy issues.

- Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, both internally and with local communities, government agencies, the not-for-profit sector, the scientific community, the business community, and the WWF Network
