WWF Zambia is seeking a high performing candidate with extensive experience in managing conservation to ensure that WWF is highly influential and relevant and is able to shape the conservation agenda in Zambia. They will ensure delivery of high quality and sustainable conservation impact at scale in Zambia based on WWF’s global priorities at national, regional and global level.
Location:
WWF office in Lusaka, Zambia
They will oversee conservation program delivery in Zambia through supervision of key professional staff and ensure the development of key programs.
In addition they will need to forge strategic partnerships and build relations with WWF stakeholders internally and externally.
Establishes and implements effective project organizational / management structures, policies, and processes; and
Ensures that WWF Zambia technical standards and reporting requirements are met.
Advanced university degree (conservation / environment / natural resource management marine / forest / freshwater / terrestrial ecology)., or other related fields.
Proven track record in successfully developing, leading, and managing large-scale programmes and/or institutions in the field of conservation, natural resource management, international development, and/or other related fields; Awareness of relevant policy issues
Skilled in negotiation, liaison, and in relationship and conflict management;
Strong skills in project planning, proposal writing, financing, management, implementation, and evaluation, and experience working with donors;
A working knowledge of financial management, especially of projects;
Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, both internally and with local communities, government agencies, the not-for-profit sector, the scientific community, the business community, and the WWF Network

What you need:Required Qualifications
At least 7 years professional experience in a leadership role, 3-5 years of which should be in the Southern Africa region and specifically Zambia, with demonstrated success in managing multi-disciplinary teams;Advanced university degree (conservation / environment / natural resource management marine / forest / freshwater / terrestrial ecology)., or other related fields.
Proven track record in successfully developing, leading, and managing large-scale programmes and/or institutions in the field of conservation, natural resource management, international development, and/or other related fields; Awareness of relevant policy issues
