POSITION TITLE: PROGRAMMES DIRECTOR
LOCATION: JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ACROSS, a Christian NGO, is looking for a suitably qualified candidate for the position of Programmes Director. The incumbent oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of an on-going program including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling programme activities
Job Functions;
Plan the delivery of the overall programme and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organisation.
Develop new initiatives to support the strategic programmatic direction of the organisation.
Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programme.
Develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the programme.
Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organisation.
Lead the process of grant and proposal writing as well as reporting on all programmatic activities of the Organisation.
Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
Develop forms and records to document programme activities.
In consultation with the Executive Director, play a lead role in the recruitment process, and selection of well-qualified programme staff.
Implement the human resources policies, procedures and practices of the organisation in all programmes.
Ensure that personnel files for the programme are properly maintained and kept confidential.
Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organisational standards.
Supervise programme staff by providing direction, input and feedback.
Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the programmes and to solicit input to improve them.
Write reports on the programme for management and for partners.
Build good relationships with partners.
Communicate well with partners as outlined in funding agreements.
Ensure that the programme operates within the approved budget.
Monitor and approve all budgeted programme expenditures.
Liaise with other managers to ensure the effective and efficient programmes delivery.
Coordinate the delivery of services among different programme activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL
Applications shall not be considered from candidates who do not possess ALL the Essential Qualifications
A minimum of University Master’s degree from a recognized institution in related subject areas such as Project Management, Development studies, social sciences, natural sciences, humanities; or Mission studies.
Fluent in English (written and spoken) and excellent in MS applications, Power point, Excel and word.
At least 7 -10 years of working experience in a similar position.
