Assistant Editor - Democracy Lab
Democracy Lab is seeking an assistant editor to edit web content and manage administrative tasks. This is a paid, full-time position that starts in early December 2014. Democracy Lab is a partnership between Foreign Policy and the Legatum Institute. To learn more, see our about page and visit the website and blog.

Job Description:
Since Democracy Lab is a two-person team, the assistant editor wears many hats. We are looking for someone who is efficient, flexible, and attentive to detail, and who also has strong editing skills and a mind for numbers. The assistant editor is responsible for:
  • Editing, writing, and researching articles and corresponding with writers
  • Preparing content for web publication
  • Writing and sending the Democracy Lab Weekly Brief
  • Managing the Democracy Lab budget and author payments
  • Compiling web analytics and data metrics reports
  • Running Democracy Lab's Twitter and Facebook accounts
This is an entry-level position with opportunities for publication.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (political science, international relations, anthropology, economics, etc.)
  • Demonstrated interest in politics, international relations, and/or democracy promotion
  • Editing and research experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Familiarity with social media management and web analytics
