Auditor for Rural Agricultural Development

by Unknown  |  in MOZAMBIQUE at  8:31 AM

Our partner works to provide an alternative to the cycle of poverty that affects all of those working in agriculture in Mozambique. Through the delivery of training, equipment and impact investing, our partner seeks to raise rural communities out of poverty. Considering the sheer number of people employed in agriculture in Mozambique, their project is by no means a small one and the impact their work has is immeasurable.
In order to continue helping people across rural Mozambique, they need an outgoing accountant with some experience in preparing for external audits. It is for this specific reason that our partner would like the assistance of an experienced professional so that they can go about empowering agricultural communities. This is a chance for a skilled financial expert to support an organisation, allowing our partners to go about doing what they do best.
As our first volunteer with this partner it will be up to you to establish a working relationship with the finance team, it will be these individuals that you will be supporting throughout your assignment and as such we would appreciate you reflecting the AfID ethos in your approach. The need for support stems primarily from the looming external audit and they would like to ensure that their financial controls and processes are sufficient for their needs. Your expertise will allow you to implement the changes that you deem necessary, but there will also be a chance for you to assist the team with MS Excel training. Hopefully you will be able to improve their internal reporting, assist with the processing of cash-flow budgeting and train the IT and Finance staff with the accounting systems so that all members of staff who interact with the process are fully capable.
This would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to forge a career in the international development sector, but it would also be a great chance to put your financial skills to good use and really make a tangible difference within our partner organisation. So whether you’re looking to escape the autumn drizzle or develop your professional skills, our partner would be especially grateful for your efforts and would be willing to cover the costs of your flights and accommodation.
