OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
Country Management Support Units (CSUs) have been established in the organisational structure to provide support to managers and staff to fully assume their responsibilities in the Global Management System (GSM) environment and to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, rules and regulations on all administrative and financial matters and transactions in the context of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Description of duties:
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Operations Officer and close supervision of the Finance Officer, the incumbent performs the following functions:

1. Maintains day to day financial records and transactions using the Imprest system while adhering to the Financial rules and regulations and manual provisions of the Organization;
2. Assists in timely processing of payments based on approved vouchers and Payment Instructions received;
3. Assists in estimation of monthly requirements of funds to be forwarded to the Regional Office for replenishment of imprest bank accounts;
4. Assists in periodic closure of accounts; and its reconciliations in a regular and timely manner;
5. Assists in ensuring completeness and safe custody of financial documents;
6. Assists in regular compilation and update of DFC database and provision of DFCs status reports to the respective Technical Officers for their follow up on submission of Financial/Technical Reports;
7. Initiates and responds to queries and correspondences related to finance and accounts, as required;
8. Performs any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
ESSENTIAL:

Completion of secondary, technical or commercial school.

DESIRABLE:

BA degree or higher qualification in accounting or finance will be an advantage.
Skills: 
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and implement inputs from several sources; to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; to conceptualize and carry out tasks with little supervision; to provide financial analytical reports, using appropriate software; to interpret financial rules and regulations; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

OTHER SKILLS:

Computer literacy and ability to effectively use a variety of software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Knowledge and experience of working in an ERP environment will be an advantage.

Experience:
ESSENTIAL:

8 years of working experience in finance and accounts.

DESIRABLE:

Experience within UN or other international or multinational organizations will be an advantage.
Languages:
- Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of other UN official and local languages would be an advantage.

- Annual remuneration: USD 13,096 Payable in ETB
