Development Consultants at British Council

We manage and deliver donor-funded international development projects in a range of sectors, and in regions around the world. As our international development portfolio continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our worldwide network of experts.
We are currently seeking consultants experienced in delivering technical assistance for international development projects to be part of our growing database of experts.
Consultants on our database are contacted directly about future opportunities relevant to their experience, skills and interests.

Desired Skills and Experience

A degree-level qualification, or equivalent (master’s degrees also desirable, and may be essential for some opportunities)
A minimum of five years’ international and/or national experience in one or more of the following sectors:
  • Civil society
  • Governance
  • Security and justice
  • Education (primary, secondary and higher education)
  • English language
  • Skills and employability (labour market, vocational education and training)
  • Culture for development

Experience of working on projects for one or more of our key funders: DFID, the EU, the World Bank, AusAID, USAID and the Asian Development Bank.
