Background:
In October 2013, Children in Crossfire initiated a 4-year programme called “Fursa kwa Watoto” (Opportunity for Children). The programme will combine direct interventions with 27,000 children in schools in Kilimanjaro and Mwanza Regions with local and national advocacy that will inform decision makers and lead to improved allocated resources for pre-primary education in Tanzania. Children in Crossfire is leading the implementation in collaboration with multiple partners at the international, national and regional levels.
Job Purpose:
The Education Programme Coordinator will support the Programme Manager with programme implementation, coordination, representation, work with partners, monitoring and evaluation as well as administrative, financial and information management for the programme. To fulfil these responsibilities, we are seeking a professional and committed individual with proven experience in programme management, coordination and/or monitoring & evaluation with a particular focus on the education sector. The successful candidate must be educated to degree level in a relevant subject area of Education, International Development or Social Science.
This is an exciting role, which will provide significant field experience and a solid foundation in the programme cycle with an emphasis on programme management. It will also provide the opportunity to grow technically with a focus on pre-primary education. The position requires travel within the country up to 40% of the employee’s time.
