Save the Children UK are looking for experienced technical advisers to join the growing Humanitarian Food Security and Livelihoods (HFSL) team. These positions will join a growing multi-Save the Children member funded Humanitarian FSL advisory team who are currently supporting close to 70 ongoing responses globally. The global HFSL team play a key role in the technical design and implementation of multi-sectoral cash transfer programmes, applying a livelihoods lens across Save the Children’s sectors, and leading on market based approaches in an effort to deliver high quality food and livelihoods assistance programmes globally.
This is an exciting time for the HFSL team as Save the Children continues to build its organisational capacity to support fast and effective cash and voucher programmes. The development of operational support (finance and logistics), and joint operating procedures enables a greater focus on technical quality and innovation. New positions in cash operations management have been developed to support the implementation of CTPs from the initial feasibility and risk assessment stage, to the selection and implementation of a delivery mechanism and distribution process. Working together with the operations colleagues on CTP forms a critical part of the implementation and design focus for the HFSL team.
About the position:
The post holder(s) will be part of the Emergency Response Personnel (ERP) and will be deployed to the field as the lead technical adviser in a small or medium-sized emergency or the 2nd phase of large emergency. Alternatively they may be deployed as a field level technical coordinator in a complex, large-scale emergency. On occasion they may also be asked to gap fill a senior technical advisory role in a chronic humanitarian country programme.
About you:
You will be an experienced humanitarian with substantial experience in food assistance and livelihoods programming, including a focus on emergency analysis, programme design and implementation. Through your experience you will demonstrate a sound understanding of integrated livelihoods and market based programming, including cash and voucher transfers. You will be motivated by ensuring that programmes are designed based on thorough information and response analysis and in a way that protects livelihoods and food security. You will work well under pressure and be driven by the growth of a high quality portfolio at global level. Interested applicants should bring energy, enthusiasm and flexibility to this role. What we offer in return
In return we are offering a salary of GDP31,475 per annum + GDP2,500 hardship allowance. ERPs will receive 35 days Annual Leave per year; medical insurance while on deployment; travel and accommodation provided for; based in home country; paid R&R; Gross salary paid from UK plus hardship allowance; complexity allowance and expensive posting allowance where applicable.
