BACKGROUND ON THE PROJECT
For this requirement CTG Global is required to provide Foreign Medical Teams (FMT) in support of our clients efforts to control EVD via Sierra Leone Community Care Centres. Staff will be required to provide clinical management functions within Community Care Centres across Sierra Leone.
EVD transmission remains intense in Sierra Leone, there is therefore a continued need for support and response to Ebola outbreaks. Community Care Centres will be embedded in communities and fulfil a central role, enabling patients to present and be tested before transferring to Treatment Units following a positive result. The level of care offered inside the Community Care Centres, while basic, will encourage families to bring loved ones forward for isolation.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Ideally the candidate would be from a health and disease outbreak background and would be responsible for chlorination spraying and infection control of the clinic and the associated transport.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education
Must have 5 years’ experience working in a similar role (decontamination/infection control), ideally with certification for HAZMAT/or equivalent.
Work Experience
· Changes or refills the 0.5% and 0.05% chlorine solutions in all zones
· Thoroughly clean and maintain the sprayers in accordance with the assigned schedule
· Ability to fully brief all staff members on room layout tents etc., location of beds/cots and body and highlight potential hazards
· Thoroughly spray the body, bedclothes, bed, floors and walls and all areas/items of potential contamination near the body
· Spray the outside of the body bags once the bodies have placed inside
· Enters the room/tent and disinfects the whole entrance area and the immediate vicinity around the body
· Adheres to and ensures that all relevant SOP’s are fulfilled
· Sprays gloves, boots and aprons of all team members during the course of the work and prior to leaving the infection/red zone
· Thoroughly disinfects the ambulance and stretchers
· Must have a keen eye for detail and be able to work in a methodical and consistent way
Languages:Fluency in English is required.
