BACKGROUND ON THE PROJECT
For this requirement CTG Global is required to provide Foreign Medical Teams (FMT) in support of our clients efforts to control EVD via Sierra Leone Community Care Centres. Staff will be required to provide clinical management functions within Community Care Centres across Sierra Leone.
EVD transmission remains intense in Sierra Leone, there is therefore a continued need for support and response to Ebola outbreaks. Community Care Centres will be embedded in communities and fulfil a central role, enabling patients to present and be tested before transferring to Treatment Units following a positive result. The level of care offered inside the Community Care Centres, while basic, will encourage families to bring loved ones forward for isolation.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to organising, supervising and/or executing:
i) Oversee the implementation of triage procedures and overall nursing care at the CCC
ii) Coordinate patient care and case management.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education
Nursing Degree with minimum 5 years’ experience working in an infectious disease setting.
Work Experience
· Solid triage and emergency response experience
· Health and disease outbreak background highly desired
· Oversee the implementation of triage and overall nursing care at the CCC
· Ensure the quality of the nursing care provided to the Ebola patients from triage to patient care and case management through strict implementation of SOP’s and treatment guidelines
· Work closely with the appropriate infection prevention and control units of the CCC and provide regular updates to the Physician on all nursing care matters
· Report any identified gaps or failure to adhere to procedures to the Physician and support the adoption of corrective measures
· Maintain age and sex-disaggregated record of patients (age ranges 0-5 years; 6–17 years; 18-59 years; over 60)
Languages:Fluency in English is required.
