The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position with the WFP Private Partnership Division. The position will be based at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The Internship will be for an initial period of 6 months starting from 1 June 2015.
Description
We are seeking a self-starter, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a keen interest in WFP's work. The selected candidate will assist the Private Partnerships Division's Online Fundraising team with the following key duties:
  • Regularly monitor the Online Community email account, responding to supporter inquiries in a timely and thoughtful way and dispatching relevant emails to other designated colleagues;
  • Produce monthly metric analysis and reports and track email marketing as requested;
  • Support online copywriter by providing a basic level of data analysis of metric reports;
  • Conduct research and consolidate findings on a variety of topics (including online trends, successful online fundraising campaigns, and identifying engaging photo content) as needed;
  • Support team-related tasks and manage other short-term projects upon request.
Essential Requirements
  • Currently enrolled or have recently graduated from a University Degree in communications, business, political science, international studies or related studies;
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study;
  • Have attended courses in the last 12 months;
  • Proficiency in MsOffice, with experience in Excel, Word, and Power Point;
  • Written and oral proficiency in English;
  • Donor relations experience is a plus -- in particular, producing donor reports, analysing gift data, and/or providing customer service to donors
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to WFP's mission of building a world with zero hunger.
Terms and Conditions
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the amount of US$700 per month.
WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, travel to and from WFP internship location, and costs related to visas. For interns requiring visa assistance, WFP will submit a note verbale request to FAO.
