ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
LFS Financial Systems GmbH (LFS) is an advisory and management firm based in Berlin, Germany specialized in MSME finance. Its major clients include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW), among others. LFS has built a network of specialized small business banks (AccessBanks) for which it acts as the management company and holds significant ownership.
ABOUT THE JOB:
LFS is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst. S/he will be responsible for maintaining direct liaison with the reporting staff in network institutions.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Collect financial and operational data on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensure timeliness of the submissions;
- Verify financial and operational data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy;
- Consolidate the data and prepare internal and external reports and analysis as required;
- Produce, review, and submit statistical information, regularly update internal documents and corporate presentation;
- Ensure availability of reports and statistics to internal and external stakeholders;
- Produce, review, and submit contractual reports to external partner organizations (investors/refinancers), as well as ad hoc reports as requested by the management;
- Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and management reports;
- Support the banks in the development of the MIS reporting functions (i.e., processes, documentation, controls, etc.);
- If necessary, visit network institutions for direct support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Economics, or Business Administration;
- Experience in similar capacity and knowledge about microfinance and/or banking sector is a plus;
- Analytical mind-set. High level of numeracy, diligence, and accuracy;
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills are required. Experience with business data processing applications (e.g. OLAP) desired;
- Proficiency in the English language is compulsory. Further language skills (French, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish) will be preferred;
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under time pressure is an asset;
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, ability to motivate others to meet their deadlines, and exposure to multicultural working environment are essential.
