About the Organization
ChildFund International exists to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change in their communities. ChildFund International promotes societies whose individuals and institutions participate in valuing, protecting and advancing the worth and rights of children. ChildFund International works in 31 countries, assisting approximately 17.8 million children and family members regardless of race, creed or gender. Since its inception in 1938, ChildFund International has provided nearly $3 billion in services to children with most of the funding coming from individual contributors in the form of monthly child sponsorships.ChildFund International is a member of ChildFund Alliance, a global network of 12 child development organizations.
Position Background
ChildFund Zambia is operational in 32 communities in Central, Copperbelt, Eastern (Nyimba) Provinces and Lusaka, and has a growing portfolio of projects in family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention, livelihoods, and education supported by international donors.
ChildFund Zambia is seeking a range of HIV/AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health, Livelihoods, WASH, Early Childhood Development and Education subject matter experts for potential short- and/or long-term assignments on various activities and programs throughout Zambia. Candidates should have experience working in Zambia and experience in supporting donor funded projects.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in relevant subject matter;
  • Experience with USAID program implementation is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as technical writer on donor proposals is preferred;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
