To achieve this, we need more outstanding HR professionals to get involved and contribute to a key moment in WFP's history - for the first time, we are setting up a strategic HR capability to enable WFP to meet its vision of zero hunger. About the role Under the general supervision of the Chief, Capability Development and under direct supervision of the Capability Development Specialist in charge of WFP Leadership Development Project, the Consultant will primarily support the following 4 key phases of Leadership Development Programme for WFP.
Once the programme of Leadership Development is launched, the Consultant is in charge to keep the learning programme for WFP leaders running through the faculty of internal trainers. The position will be based in our headquarters in Rome, Italy, for an initial contract period of 11 months.
Key responsibilities
Project Management
  • Support Leadership Development Project Manager with planning, administration, and tasks coordination during each phase of the project;
  • Assist Project Manager with tracking progress made on project plan and with regular status updates to advisory board and lead sponsor;
  • Organise meetings for project team, with key stakeholders, with advisory board/ lead sponsor and with external learning provider;

Learning Coordination
  • Upload and keep updated any learning solution on LMS for the Leadership Development Programme;
  • Schedule and coordinate the actual learning events / solutions once the leadership development programme is kicked off;
  • Prepare or support with the actual preparation of the learning events (booking and setting up rooms and needed equipment, preparing webinars, testing e-learnings, sending invites through LMS, notifying line-managers, printing material, inviting sponsor(s) for the opening of face-to-face sessions, inviting and briefing guest speakers);
  • Coordinate and follow-up on the action learnings component in the leadership development programmes;
  • Handle system administration for tracking learning hours and learning KPI's and report on the learning KPIs;
  • Ensure compliance with the WFP learning rules;
  • Be the first contact person for any question from participants on leadership development programme.
Internal Trainers Faculty for Leadership Development Program
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate the internal trainers selection to compose the faculty of 40 internal trainers for the delivery of the face-to-face component in the Leadership Development Programme;
  • Organize and coordinate the train-the-trainers sessions and the subsequent shadowing sessions;
  • Organize the follow-up coaching sessions for all the internal trainers;
  • Support with the definition of guidelines - rules for the internal trainers, communicate these guidelines - rules and ensure compliance;
  • Create and maintain an internal trainers 'community;
  • Ensure regular feedback is collected and shared with each individual internal trainer and create dashboards for internal trainers.
Communication Responsibilities
  • Support with the definition of the engagement/communication plan for the leadership development programme;
  • Implement the actual communication plan for leadership development in integration with the overall people strategy communication and in close collaboration with internal communication department of WFP;
  • Create and keep updated the Leadership Community;
  • Track the implementation of the project communication plan.
In addition, the Consultant is expected to support the Capability Development Branch with other learning programmes from the learning needs analysis through vendor management, learning solution development, learning delivery, LMS administration until learning measurement and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education
  • University degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
Experience
  • At least three years of experience in learning coordination/administration for large scale global capability building/development solutions;
  • Strong vendor management experience;
  • Basic experience in project management;
  • Previous experience with leadership development & learning is desirable.
Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Creative problem solver, flexible and constructive approach to overcome challenges;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence internally with various stakeholders and subject matter experts across business functions, levels and geographical areas;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other standard office software packages and systems. Language:
  • Working knowledge (proficiency/level C) of English;
  • Intermediate knowledge (level B) of another UN official language (Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian or Chinese) or Portuguese (one of WFP's working languages).
