OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
In liaison with the Workshop Supervisor and drivers, responsible to inspect, repair, recondition and maintain all Tyres within the fleet.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Role objective:
Under the direct supervision of immediate Supervisor and in co-ordination with all Fleet staff, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:
- Maintenance,
a. Inspect, measure and record tyre tread depth at a predetermined period for each vehicle.
b. Examine sidewalls for cuts, abrasions, bulges, unusual wear and road damage.
c. At a regular pre-determined period rotate the tyres in accordance to the vehicle handbook to minimise wear.
- Inflation; On a regular basis ensure that all the tyre pressures are checked and adjusted correctly in accordance to established tyre pressure settings using an accurate gauge and taking into consideration road conditions during the different seasons.
- Repairs; Remove and repair tyres as necessary and observe proper wheel tightening procedures after repair is completed.
- Health and Safety requirements; Observe proper use of tools and equipment provided and use of tyre inflation cage during inflation and proper jacking and use of axle stands.
- Tracking; Record and track every tyre that is removed from each vehicle and check that the unique serial number of the tyre coming off tallies with the master record and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor.
- Tools & Equipment; Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Reporting; Ensure that proper information is provided to enter the data in the FMS.
- Remould & re-grooving.; Where applicable, organise with immediate supervisor those tyres which can be reconditioned and record and store these separately.
- Disposal; Recommend to immediate supervisor tyres for disposal and sale when a pre-determined level is reached.
- SOP-s; Work in accordance to SOPs and guidelines established.
- Loss or damage of Cargo, Spares, Tools or Equipment as well as Loss of Fuel in the care of the employee shall be deducted from the salary based on CIF value or Local Market Rate, whichever is prevailing. This can also lead to penalties or dismissal to the Personnel and penalties on the Service Provider or Contractor.
- General assistance, will assist in the workshop as required.
Expected output:
Repair all vehicles to the highest standard in the shortest possible timeframe and with the utmost importance to withhold the highest safety standards.

Liaise and cooperate with Drivers, Mechanics, Assistant Mechanics, semi-skilled staff, Workshop and Stores Personnel.
Team management:
To liaise and cooperate with all Workshop staff.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education:
§ High school graduate.
Work experience:
§ Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable relevant Maintenance experience.
Geographical experience:
§ Local experience in Geneina is an advantage.
Languages:
§ Fluency in Arabic is desirable.
Hold a full driving licence for Light vehicle category - desirable
To achieve minimum downtime, ensure that all tyres are repaired within the established time period.
Ensure that quality of the repair carried out is in accordance to established standards set.
