UNICEF is seeking Talented Professionals in Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) at the P3 & P4 level

The overall objective of UNICEF in WASH is to contribute to the realization of children's rights to survival and development through global and national promotion of sector investment and support to programmes that increase equitable and sustainable access to, and use of, safe water and basic sanitation services, and promote improved hygiene. UNICEF aims to work in close partnership with its sister agencies, but above all in support of government partners and nationally identified priorities evolving from development plans towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In order to achieve these targets, UNICEF is seeking candidates for the following positions;
Chief of WASH, who under the overall guidance of the Management, is accountable for the development, policy design, planning, programme innovation, implementation and management of a WASH programme within a UNICEF country programme. The role as head of section includes directing, leading and managing a group of professional and supporting staff to develop, manage and administer the sectoral or inter-sectoral project/programme.
WASH Specialists, who under the overall guidance of either the Chief of WASH or the Management, take responsibility for key elements of the WASH programme as determined by the organization's priorities.
Candidates with expertise in the following areas, water and environment, sanitation, hygiene promotion and behaviour change, emergency work in water and sanitation, with experience and knowledge of the following areas are especially encouraged to apply;
-An intimate knowledge of the evolving evidence base related to WASH and children,
-Analysis of sector policy, working in partnerships and advocacy,

Qualifications of Successful Candidates
Academic qualification for P-3 and P-4
-Advanced university degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Sanitation Engineering, Social Sciences or a field relevant to international WASH related development assistance.

Work experience qualifications for P-3
