JOB TITLE: Field Administrator
JOB SITE: Somalia, Middle Shabelle
DURATION: 8 months – 6 day work-week (through 31 December 2016)
PROBATION PERIOD: 3 months
REPORTS TO: Field Coordinator
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:
INTERSOS is an international humanitarian organisation that has been active in Somalia since 1992. INTERSOS is urgently looking for a Field Administrator to several projects in Middle Shabelle. The Field Administrator will work closely with project, administrative, and support staff in Middle Shabelle, Mogadishu, and Nairobi.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Support the mission, vision, and core values of INTERSOS;
• Following and completing assignments as given by the Field Coordinator, Project Managers, and Nairobi Administrative Staff;
• Working closely with INTERSOS partners in the field, including WOCCA;
• Creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and calm for clients and fellow staff;
• Facilitating the recruitment and contract of new personnel in the field in collaboration with Nairobi-based Human Resources;
• Ensuring that contracts and other HR documents are signed, properly maintained, and shared with Nairobi;
• Managing staff rotas at Jowhar Regional Hospital and associated facilities, including maintaining holiday schedules;
• Managing field-level finances, including preparation and reconciliation of fund requests in consultation with field staff, as well as gathering receipts and sharing with Nairobi Administrative team in a timely fashion;
• Undertake other tasks not specified in this posting at the request of direct and upper management.
Skills and competences
• Previous experience, in administration and finance;
• Excellent communications skills;
• Excellent computer skills;
• Excellent self-motivation and decision making skills;
• Extremely flexible, and able to cope with stressful situations and frustrations;
• Somali national, able to work in Middle Shabelle Region.
