The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Our purpose is to make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care.
The Audit and Corporate Governance Committee is a non-executive sub-committee of the CQC board and consists of three CQC board members and one independent member. The Committee plays a crucial role in CQC’s work, providing assurance and advice to the CQC Board on risk management, governance and internal control.
We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to this critical position. Whilst not necessarily an accountant, you will have recent Audit Committee experience, gained in organisations of some operational scale and complexity. An expertise in one or more of strategic finance, corporate auditing and business processes, the management of corporate and regulatory risk and the oversight of information communication technology strategies would be of particular interest. Additionally, we are seeking a proven ability to provide oversight and challenge, ensure robust governance arrangements are in place and monitor performance.
This is a challenging and high profile appointment, requiring an individual with outstanding communication skills and the clear ability to work collaboratively with others, ensuring the delivery of professional, quality driven, public services. Above all, you will share our values and have an empathy with our work.
