Security Advisor in Juba, South Sudan

The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is a fixed-term contract, initially for six months. The office is based in Juba, South Sudan. Business travel within South Sudan will be required.
Aim and duties of the role
As Security Advisor you are responsible for the operational performance of the security manage-ment. You will advise the Country Director on coordination, planning and implementation and ensure a timely report to the Country Director, the Advisor for Security Management in Bonn and the Regional Director of Welthungerhilfe.
Your most important duties:
  • Implementation of security analysis (risk analysis) locally
  • Analysis, preparation and documentation of security-relevant information
  • Development and coordination of security plans and standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Supervision of the planning and implementation of projects taking into account security-relevant aspects
  • Technical assistance and support of project personnel in the field of security management
  • Close cooperation with security networks and security consultants in international and national organisations and locally-represented partners of Alliance2015
As a qualified applicant you will possess the following:
  • a relevant higher education or applied sciences university qualification, ideally in the field of security management, international relations or a comparable subject
  • several years of relevant professional experience in the field of security management with an organisation, company or governmental institution
  • several years of experience in development cooperation and crisis situations in countries with difficult security situations
  • coordination and organisational abilities, especially when under considerable working pressure
  • cooperation and teamworking skills very good written and spoken English is essential
