Established in 1964, the African Development Bank Group is the premier pan-African development institution, promoting economic growth and social progress across the continent. The Bank’s development agenda is delivering the financial and technical support for transformative projects that will significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In order to sharply focus the objectives of our Ten Year Strategy (2013 – 2022) and ensure greater developmental impact, five major areas, all of which will accelerate our delivery for Africa, have been identified for scaling up, namely; energy, agro-business, industrialisation, integration and improving the quality of life for the people of Africa. We now seek to fill the position of Division Manager – Capital Markets and Financial Operations.
In this pivotal position, you will raise cost-effective resources from capital markets and take ownership of a borrowing program of around USD 6 billion. At the same time, you will contribute to the Capital Increases process and administer shareholders’ subscriptions to our capital, dealing with 80 member countries and authorized capital of some USD 100 billion. You can also expect considerable impact on our replenishment negotiations, whilst preparing our financial presentations, so you will have a central part to play in maintaining our competitiveness and financial integrity. In particular, you will profoundly shape our funding strategy and asset management framework, so we need a seasoned professional with exceptional vision and commercial acumen.
Qualified to Master’s degree level in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or a related discipline, you will bring extensive exposure to international capital markets and fixed income markets. This should be backed by an impressive record in financial management, gained within complex and politically sensitive environments, giving you proven ability to prioritise, multitask and build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Finally, you should possess excellent communication and presentation skills in English or French, backed by familiarity with the Summit and Numerix programs.
