Automotive Industry Development Centre’s (AIDC) Supplier Incubation Programme
The Supplier Park Development Company (SOC) Ltd, trading as AIDC, is a Government-owned, public entity company established to provide support to the SA Automotive Industry in its drive for global competitiveness. It is a dynamic company that offers exciting career opportunities. The AIDC currently has two operational business incubators in the automotive industry based in Gauteng. The AIDC aims to recruit Incubatees that will be based at one of the Original Equipment Manufacturers Incubation facilities located in Pretoria. In support of this, the AIDC are embarking on a recruitment drive for incumbents who will become Incubatees within the Incubation Programme whereby they would spend an average of five years on the Programme (subject to agreed performance targets). During this period, the Incubatees will be trained and mentored by the AIDC as well as a technical partner to become proficient in operating a manufacturing business within the automotive industry. The Incubatee will ‘graduate’ from the programme with the required skills and a registered company with a proven delivery track record, at a minimum.
Purpose of position:
Inclusion into AIDC’s Incubation Development Programme to develop the successful candidate to become a fully competent entrepreneur. Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates.
Qualifications and experience:
• Grade 12; NQF Level 5 (HEQF Level 6) in Entrepreneur Management or Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of 5 years’ technical/production experience within the automotive industry
• A Supervisory and/or Management qualification will be an advantage
• 5 years’ management experience within the automotive industry will be an advantage
• Experience in supplying to an OEM will be an advantage
• Experience in operational, financial, marketing, QMS, logistics, business development and HR will be an advantage
• Preference will be given to Gauteng-based candidates.
