Caritas Switzerland operates in the region EA/Horn and runs country offices in Nairobi (Kenya), Hargeisa (Somaliland) and Torit (Sudan).
For its program in South Sudan, the Africa / Latin America Department is seeking a.
PROJECT MANAGER for Alternative Education System
For Torit County
**Starting Date: Asap
Duration: 12 months (with option of extension) **
Key tasks & Responsibilities
  • General management and supervision of the project activities including implementation of planned activities in accordance to the time plan;
  • Oversee the technical flow of the project activities and inputs in line with the methodology and with regard to the provision of technical support to project staff and partner organisations;
  • Strategic planning and monitoring of activities as per outlined action plan. This includes the transfer of financial information into budget formats and expenditure plans as well as the alignment of objectives with work plans and timeframes of the project cycle;
  • Development and monitoring of selected strategic approaches to assure a smooth and efficient implementation of the ALP project;
  • Analysis and evaluation of collected data with respect to project objectives and goals.;
  • Assuring the smooth set up of a project relevant M&E system in close coordination with the relevant PM&E Officer;
  • Writing and compilation of information of the ALP project;
  • Management and supervision of as well as provision of guidance to the ALP consortium;
  • Close contact with relevant stakeholders of the education sector and other operating projects;
  • Submission of monthly reports to the management;
  • Support and participate in both baseline survey and pilot phase for Pastoralist Education in greater Kapoeta region;
  • Attend project steering committee meeting every quarter and document key resolutions made;
  • Plan and prepare interactive radio talk shows with key stakeholders;
  • Participation in Education cluster meetings on state level.

HOW TO APPLY:
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
  • Diploma / Certificate in the field of Education;
  • At least five years experience in project implementation in the field of Education including extensive field work experience within the education sector;
  • Good knowledge of key issues and trends in education;
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment within a multi-cultural setting;
  • Good reporting /writing skills;
  • Excellent English (written/spoken) skills
  • Excellent networking, communication and inter-personal skills,
  • Ability to solve challenges and work solution oriented
  • Flexible, innovative and sensitive to cultural values; and
  • Advanced level in computer literacy (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Open to South Sudanese Nationals only
