Job Profile: The Education Officer will be responsible for assisting the Education Coordinator (EC) and Senior Education Officer in managing the implementation and development of all aspects of the education programme in Ajuong Thok Camp.

Duties and Responsibilities
A. Project cycle Management
· Setting short and medium term primary/secondary education unit program plans in liaison with the EC and plans and monitors performance against those plans.
· Assisting with planning and design of primary education activities and measures of achievement and collecting data for LWF/DWS primary/secondary education unit performance monitoring plan, especially with regard to primary education indicators.
· Supervision of the internal and external exams exercise and administration.
· Ensuring regular communication and interaction between the Education Sector Management staff and teachers, and the school management committees, Refugee Education committees, government education department, and other development partners and agencies.
· Investigate gender imbalances in education service provision in the primary/secondary education unit, and designing and implementing initiatives aimed at increasing enrolment and improving retention and performance of girls in the primary schools.
· Keeping the EC apprised of emerging issues within the schools, the refugee communities, and involving the school management committees and Refugee Education Committees as required in a timely manner.
· Being conversant with and using the LWF/DWS Programme Strategic Outline, policies and procedures, donor guidelines and agreements, in planning and implementing primary/secondary education unit activities.
B. Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation
· Monitoring progress and impact of the primary education unit through regular school visits, and providing management committees and the Refugee Education Committees.
· Preparing Reports, tables, graphs and charts on the above information for the purpose of better informing LWF/DWS and its partners on trends, status, needs and opportunities for the primary/secondary unit on regular basis as may be required.
· Reviewing work plans and activity plans of the primary/secondary education unit for comprehensiveness, clarity and adherence to LWF/DWS Project goals and objectives.
· Representing LWF/DWS Education sector and participating in strategic refugee education coordination and planning discussion meetings.
· Working closely with stakeholders and other partners to ensure that primary/secondary education unit achievements and lessons learned are properly documented and disseminated to representatives of the education sector.
C. Staff Supervision, Training and Development
· Participating in regular education sector management of overall primary/secondary education unit
· Working with teachers and others to ensure the meaningful participation of learners (children and youth) in all aspects of the primary/secondary education unit.
· Identifying teacher training needs and making proper managements for in-service training of teachers.
· Arranging the sharing of ideas between teachers and primary schools and coordinating the work of head teachers, school management committees and school inspectors in the camp.
· Ensuring effective evaluation of learners to see that primary/secondary schools are in line with the appropriate School Curriculum, and noting changes required in curriculum or teaching methods.
· Assist in conducting primary/secondary education unit staff performance appraisals every term, or as directed by the EC.
· Any other duties and assignments as directed by the education coordinator
