BBC Media Action uses media and communications to help improve health, reduce poverty, and support people in understanding their rights. To achieve this, it partners with civil society, local media and governments to:
- Produce creative programmes in multi-media formats which inform and engage audiences around key development issues; and
- Strengthen the media sector through building professional capacity and infrastructure.

Role Responsibility
As a Senior Projects Manager you will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of our media and development projects in South Sudan. The Senior Project Manager will ensure that the agreed targets and objectives of country projects are met, within budget, while ensuring the quality and cohesion of project outputs. This will include managing project managers as well having dotted line responsibility to radio teams who will be producing content. This post will also ensure that the Research department is kept abreast of project timelines in order that the research is delivered at the appropriate time. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for donor-reporting and liaison with all our bilateral and multilateral donors.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience of senior project management in a developing country context, preferably in Africa. Demonstrated capacity to manage large-scale projects effectively with budgets in excess of £300,000 per annum is required. You will have a proven track-record in international development and experience in the use of media to achieve development goals. Experience of managing teams of national and international staff is essential, preferably within a developing country context.
You will have strong financial management skills, with proven experience managing large budgets, including accurate and timely reporting to donors. It is essential you have strong interpersonal, and communication skills, are personally resilient along with fluency in written and spoken English.
