Grants Coordinator - 2 positions - Mali and Central African Republic

We are looking for grants coordinators for our country programmes in Central African Republic and Mali/ Burkina Faso.
The purpose of the Grants Coordinator position is to provide essential grant management support to the Country Program and support the Programme Team in delivering quality programmes in line with the NRC country strategies and Plan of action. Fluency in French and English written and oral is a requirement.

Job description

  • Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
  • Maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines, including filing of grant documents (including through the grants database )
  • Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, as well as ensuring donor compliance and quality control
  • Contribute to the development, revision and quality control of funding proposals, budgets and donor reports
  • Be updated on donor priorities and track and share relevant calls for proposals
  • Analyze, document and share learning from proposal and reporting process, and compliance with donor rules and regulations
  • Contribute to continuously improving internal grant management systems
  • Provide an internal help-desk on donor related issues, including organize and deliver trainings in donor rules and regulations, as well as proposal and report writing
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of internal reports
  • Support external donor audits
  • Represent with relevant partners and donors as delegated
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
  • Facilitate and contribute to developing and maintaining partner relations within the country programme
  • Ensure institutional knowledge and memory is attained with regards to programme development and in-country partner relations
  • Coordinate the timely submission of narrative and financial report and ensure all proposal and reporting documents are accessible and well organized
  • Actively participate in the country strategy process
  • In coordination with the Area Manager and the Country/ Programme Director ensure the active monitoring of programme progress through active participation in grant opening meetings, monthly grant review meetings and grants closing meetings
  • Develop and oversee the grant’s team and ensure active capacity building of staff within the unit
  • Participate in relevant coordination meetings as and when needed
  • Ensure compliance with monitoring requirements for internal and external reporting
  • Support the drafting of annual reports, presentation material and other informational documents

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertise
  • Relevant experience from the project management in the humanitarian sector
  • Relevant experience from working with humanitarian- and development donors
  • Good understanding of donor rules and regulations
  • Skills and experience in report and proposal writing
  • Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competing interests
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English
  • Above average computer skills
  • Knowledge of the context in the country is an asset
  • Knowledge of humanitarian donors
  • Strong Writing skills
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian coordination framework
  • Budget development and management experience
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Proactive and able to lead new initiatives
  • Experience in putting in place systems

We offer

  • Commencement: January 2016
  • Contract period: 18 months
  • Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions
  • Duty station: Bamako or Bangui with travel to the field offices. Both duty stations are non-family duty stations.
  • International staff members are required to live in joint accommodation.
  • Approved health certficate will be requested before contract start
