Fixed term contract, 12 months The total salary package for this position is £32,808 – £35,544 pa including basic salary, hardship allowance and cost of living allowance.

About the South Sudan programme: We are currently recruiting for a Programme Officer for our South Sudan Programme, based in Juba. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an established programme, working with a team of international staff and circa 180 national staff. The MAG South Sudan programme is looking to consolidate its position in South Sudan and to strengthen and develop its national capacity.
About the role: In this role the successful candidate will undertake a wide range of activities including proposal writing, grant monitoring, evaluating programme performance, report writing for donors and assisting the Country Director in ensuring the programme meets its contractual requirements. They will also help develop and coordinate our information management function, supporting the development of MAG’s global management function that intends to track MAG’s activities and outputs, from daily to monthly to donor reporting and analysis across the programme in South Sudan. The ability to develop, maintain and interrogate information management systems and the data within them is therefore a key requirement for the role, as is effective communication with external partners and excellent writing and reporting skills.
About you: The successful candidate will have experience of working overseas in international aid or development, ideally in a conflict / post conflict environment, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. The ability to work in dynamic teams of national and international staff and produce written material of the highest quality is essential. You will have an interest and ability to process data efficiently, and make simple to use systems for Information Management. In addition, you must be able to prioritise a heavy workload to meet deadlines. Due to the countries in which MAG works, you will also need to be able to demonstrate awareness of personal security, cultural sensitivities and a diplomatic manner.
