Our successful and well known global client is currently busy with yet another Greenfield Mining project in one of the French Speaking West African Countries. They are looking for a Geologist Blend Supervisor to join their team.
Job Description
Working alongside other site geologists, mine engineers, geotechnical engineers and Senior Project Management, you will provide geological services to the mine site during design, development and on to full operations
Your responsibilities will include devising standard operating procedures, safety criteria, planning and managing open cast mining processes, undertaking geological and structural mapping, Quality Control and preparing and maintaining mine planning and production models.
Blend Supervision will be one of the key aspects, including marking ore-body areas to be drilled, blasted, sampled, participating in evaluating and interpreting results, documenting geological investigations and findings, etc.
This opportunity would be based on 6:2 (weeks) rotation. Attractive package including a competitive day rate, flights, transfers, laundry, accommodation and food.
We would be looking ideally for strong candidates who have previous African or hardship location experience. The ideal candidate would be immediately available and have been vaccinated against yellow fever.
Candidate Requirements
- Candidates should possess a tertiary qualification in geology
- Must have a working knowledge of Bulk Commodity such as Manganese or similar ore
- Ability to interpret data and utilise modelling and planning software.
- Open cast Mining Experience
- Fluency French
- Good knowledge and operation of geological software such as SURPAC.
