The Oxfam’s Senior Gender Advisor will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to Oxfam’s work on gender justice. Will contribute to defining the long term vision and organisational objectives for Oxfam’s Gender Justice programming.

 The role
As Oxfam’s Senior Gender Advisor you’ll be responsible for providing strategic leadership to Oxfam’s work on gender justice. You will contribute to defining the long term vision and organisational objectives for Oxfam’s Gender Justice programming. You will inspire, mentor and support gender advisors and programme staff at country, regional and global levels to improve the quality and impact of gender justice programming and in mainstreaming Oxfam’s commitments to women’s rights in all development, humanitarian, campaigning and influencing activities.
You’ll lead communication and visibility of Oxfam’s gender justice work including the development of research, programme learning and communications products, and you’ll represent Oxfam corporately and manage significant external alliances to support Oxfam’s learning, influence and thought leadership on Gender justice
 What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced gender expert with solid practical experience in the design and delivery of gender justice programmes in an international development context. You will have in-depth knowledge of the factors driving gender inequalities in different contexts and keep abreast of research, trends and issues in programming to support gender justice.  You’ll have strong analytical skills and be able to think strategically, be flexible and results driven and capable of leading, motivating and mentoring others and facilitating .
This is a fixed term 2 year post.
