Water and Sanitation Engineer - Response & Resilience Team (RRT)

Salary: £25,596 – £34,617 per annum Net, (net salary means that Oxfam GB will meet the tax and social security liabilities of post-holder in addition to net salary)
Contract Type: Fixed Term – 1 year (two contracts available)
Hours: Full Time – 36 per week
Oxfam works with others to overcome poverty and suffering. As an Oxfam employee, you will join a team of professionals that is part of the international confederation of 17 organizations networked together in 94 countries. As part of a global movement for change, we are working together to end world poverty and injustice.
This is an opportunity to work to enable Oxfam to respond quickly to the Public Health Engineering requirements of an emergency. The work may involve, in an immediate emergency stage, the assessment of the situation and in later stages the implementation of public health measures required to alleviate the plight of the people affected by the emergency.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Public Health Engineer, who above anything else, has first-hand experience in emergency situations and experience in leading teams and co-ordinating public health engineering activities with other agencies in emergencies. You’ll have an understanding public health needs in poor rural & urban communities and appropriate ways of tackling them. You’ll also be confident in people management and capacity building.
