These temporary positions are located in United Nations (UN) Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) response field missions in Africa, including those UN Clinics administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). They report to the Chief Medical Officer. Although working in countries affected by the Ebola outbreak, or neighbouring regions, these positions are not primarily involved in Ebola Treatment Units. However, each clinic may receive walk-in patients who meet case criteria. Isolation, holding and transfer capability is the intended scope of practice for these posts.

Laboratory Technician Diploma or equivalent in Laboratory Science. Technical training in medical laboratory. A valid driver’s license is required.
At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in laboratory analysis.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. . Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
