TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Base Logistician/Supply Assistant the Driver is responsible to assure safe and secure transportation of MSF staff and goods. Also to assure that the vehicle is in a good condition all the time mechanically and clean physically.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Driving: Transportation of MSF staff as per request for work related activities.
Safety: Ensure the safety and security of passengers in the vehicle. Know and respect the security rules related to vehicle movements, Ensure correct loading and offloading of the vehicle.
Maintenance: Understands the MSF standard vehicle maintenance policy. Ensure that the MSF vehicles are in good working. Report any mechanical problem to Base Logistician
Administration: Ensure that all administrative documents relating to the vehicle are kept up to date. Organise/Prepare the daily scheduling with Base Logistician and update movement board. Keep records of mileage, fuel consumptions and service records.

Education, experience, knowledge and skills: Matric; Valid Driver’s Licence; Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP); 2 Year Driving Experience; Recommendation Letter.
Knowledge: Desirable knowledge of basic mechanics; Good knowledge of mission area road; Desirable experience with specific vehicles to use.
Required Attributes: An understanding of and commitment to the aims and values of MSF.
Required Languages: Fluent written and spoken English and Local language essential.
Others: Essential good vision; Availability to travel and stay outside base overnight.
Knowledge: Desirable knowledge of basic mechanics; Good knowledge of mission area road; Desirable experience with specific vehicles to use.
