IPA Rwanda is looking to hire an intern to help support its Health project, a study evaluating a Ministry of Health-led community-based environmental health program. The evaluation involves a randomized design whereby selected study villages are eligible to initiate either a high- or low-resource community hygiene club as a method of sharing and learning safe practices for family health and hygiene.
Position Summary:
The intern will assist with analyzing 1) data from the project’s baseline data collection, which contains over 9,000 households, and producing related policy briefs and reports, and 2) data collected during monitoring of the program implementation, which is ongoing. The intern may also support the planning process for the upcoming midline fieldwork (scheduled for January 2015), including helping with developing and piloting survey tools, and training field staff on survey tools and digital data collection devices.
Qualifications:
- Quantitative training, including econometrics – for example: undergraduate or graduate studies in economics or other field with technical component
- Knowledge of Stata (required)
- Self-starter, resourceful and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse constituencies
- Ability to understand and consistently work towards achieving the highest quality data analysis and documenting steps taken
- Familiarity with randomized controlled trials is a plus
- Strong oral and written English communications skills
The desired start date is Sept. 1 (or earlier), lasting through December.
